Artistic rarity from Chemnitz in pristine, unused original condition!
Up for sale is a rare and graphically highly sophisticated Art Nouveau postcard dated September 26, 1912.
The card was issued as a commemorative/promotional piece for the "Höhere Mädchen-Bildungsanstalt" (Higher Educational Institute for Girls) in Chemnitz, Saxony. The detailed central motif depicts the grand architecture of the school building, elegantly framed by a group of girls drawn in classic Art Nouveau style holding a floral garland.
The upper right corner features the original artist signature of Hanna Freyer. Since the card is unused (blank), the crisp and clean print work of the era is displayed to its full advantage. An absolute highlight for collectors of Saxon postal history, architecture enthusiasts, and lovers of early 20th-century Art Nouveau graphics.
